The HSM Group is thrilled to announce that they have recruited two of their interns from the Cayman Islands Further Education Centre (CIFEC) Internship Programme.
Javari Pearson has joined HSM IP Ltd. as an Intellectual Property Assistant and Alanee Morgan has joined HSM Corporate Services Ltd. as a Compliance Assistant. They originally joined the firm as CIFEC interns from October 2023 through April 2024 and recently completed HSM’s 2024 Summer Internship Programme.
In addition to working full-time, they are interested in pursuing further education. Javari is exploring online legal degrees and aspires to become an attorney. Alanee is pursuing an associate’s degree in business administration at the University College of the Cayman Islands.
HSM Managing Partner, Huw Moses OBE shares: “We are excited to have Javari and Alanee join the HSM group as full-time assistants. They have shown great potential during their internship and we are confident they will continue to make a strong impact.”
HSM has partnered with the CIFEC progamme since 2012 and plans to attend the CIFEC Careers Fair on 27 September 2024, where they will interview students for the next internship programme. HSM plans to welcome at least 10 interns next month through April 2025.

The HSM Group is thrilled to announce that they have recruited three of their interns from the Cayman Islands Further Education Centre (CIFEC) internship programme 2022-2023.
Kayleigh Bush, Phyllis Brown and Jenae Whittaker have all joined the firm as IP Administrative Assistants for the firm’s intellectual property (IP) practice. They originally joined as CIFEC interns from October 2022 through April 2023 and further completed HSM’s 2023 Summer Internship Programme.
Since HSM is a full-service law firm, each of the students gained a variety of experiences including debt collection, compliance and property law. In their roles as IP assistants, they are responsible for coordinating new trade mark / patent applications, updating client files and supporting the office actions team.
In addition to working full-time, they are interested in pursuing further education at the University College of the Cayman Islands. Jenae is studying Business Administration; Phyllis is studying Real Estate and Kayleigh plans to study Business Administration in the spring of 2024.

The HSM Group is proud to once again offer a legal internship for the 2019/20 academic year in partnership with the Cayman Islands Further Education Centre (CIFEC).
Eleven interns have been recruited from the CIFEC Career Fair that was held in September 2019. The team at HSM has welcomed: Joshua Bent, Nahomy Bonilla-Zelaya, Derique Powery, Sheyla Scott, Rickhams Zuniga, Aaliyah Morris, Toshonna Kelly, Zara Hydes, Chrissy Stewart-Brown, Nyanza Henry and Amaya Jackson.
Since HSM is a full-service law firm, these students are able to gain experiences across a wide-range of practices including immigration, debt collection, intellectual property and even areas outside of law, such as finance.
Natasha Whitelocke coordinates the CIFEC Internship Programme on behalf of HSM and is also the Head IP Paralegal. Whitelocke along with HSM’s Managing Partner, Huw Moses, carefully select and pair an intern with a lawyer or expert at HSM. These personnel will monitor the student’s work and mentor their professionalism.
As part of the CIFEC curriculum, the internship runs until April 2019 and each student attends work twice a week during school hours. When the programme ends, HSM offers a select amount of summer jobs that will provide some students a deeper look into the working world. HSM currently employs six CIFEC graduates fulltime.

The HSM Group has once again opened its doors for their summer internship programme and has welcomed four students from the Cayman Islands Further Education Centre (CIFEC).
Paula Brown, Amelia Lamie, Xylina Ritch and Yanina Montero have joined HSM’s team. As a full-service law firm in the Cayman Islands, HSM is able to offer them a wide-range of experiences including Corporate Services, Debt Collection, Immigration and Finance.
This internship comes off the heels of a 10-month work experience stint with the CIFEC programme, where these students along with 12 others came to work at HSM twice a week during school hours. HSM’s summer internship will allow them to hone in on the skills they have learned thus far and make meaningful contributions as regular members of the team.

HSM is an avid supporter of the CIFEC programme and will be participating at CIFEC’s annual career fair in September. At this time, they plan to take on at least 10 students who are looking for a dynamic experience in the legal field. HSM has supported the CIFEC programme since they opened their doors in 2012 and employs six CIFEC graduates full-time.

The students were recruited at the CIFEC Career Fair which took place in September 2018. As part of the CIFEC curriculum, each student attends work twice a week during school hours.
HSM’s internship programme begins October 2018 and runs until April 2019. The students have been paired with a mentor and will gain experience in areas such as immigration, corporate services, debt collection, intellectual property and even areas outside of law, such as finance and marketing.
Joining the team are: Kymani Rose, Jada Dixon, Iesha McIntosh, Paula Brown, Oneila Ewers, Shante Ramoon, Jordyn Thompson, Amelia Lamie, Abigail Campbell, Shaquana Welcome, Chadrick Thomas, Shantel Miller, Yanina Montero, Nia Carter, Izarah Brown and Chelsea Frederick.
Upon completion of this programme, some students may have the opportunity to return to HSM for a summer placement during normal office hours. If a student has proven a match for an open position with the company, they may be offered a fulltime job. HSM currently employs six CIFEC graduates fulltime.

HSM is thrilled to have once again participated in the annual Cayman Islands Further Education Centre (CIFEC) Career Fair, which took place on 21 September 2018.
The fair allows the opportunity for students to present their résumé and learn more about the different industries in the Cayman Islands. Over 200 students attended this year’s fair.
HSM set up a booth at the CIFEC Library to introduce themselves as Cayman’s fastest growing law firm and seeks to recruit at least 13 students to their 2018/19 internship programme.
Managing Partner, Huw Moses and IP Head Paralegal, Natasha Whitelocke were on hand to speak with students about a career in the legal profession, especially in the fields of Intellectual Property, Immigration, Debt Collection and Corporate Services.
Gabriel Morla and Shantel Ritch, two HSM IP staff members and prior CIFEC students were also there to speak with the potential student recruits. They shared their experiences in the programme and what it is like to be employed full-time.
