CIIPO Operations COVID-19 Update and Annual Fee Extension

The Cayman Islands Intellectual Property Office (CIIPO) is working remotely during the COVID-19 crisis and as a way to assist brand owners, has extended the deadline for the payment of 2020 annual fees for IP rights to 30 June 2020 with no penalties to be incurred until 1 July 2020. Under previous conditions, the deadline to pay annual fees is 1 January with a grace period for payment without penalty until 31 March of each year. Time limits for all other filings remain.
CIIPO shared that substantive examination of applications for registration, office actions and all other notices/reports will continue as per normal.
